I didn't make my high school field hockey team, advice/help?

I am going to be a freshman in high school this year, and I tried out for the field hockey team. Unfortunately, a bunch of freshman decided not to play this year, so the coach said there was going to be no freshman team (only jv and varsity). I played field hockey in middle school, and spent my whole summer running and practicing for try-outs! Only a few of us freshman didn't make it. And my best friend made it too. I don't know what to do, I'm crying and I feel like a failure. I need some advice on how to keep on going. :(I didn't make my high school field hockey team, advice/help?
Hey,

I know you feel. I recently went through this same situation. I was devastated. I couldnt listen to songs or anything as it would remind me of the situation. It ruined my whole WEEK. I didnt want to talk or see anybody either. After thinking about, I learned to move on. At one point in life, you will experience this situation. Wether it be for a job, team, school, college, whatever! Everybody goes through this. Unfortuantely, you and I had to experience it at a young age. But, you have to move on. I started to listen to songs about moving on and forgetting about the past. We have to worry about what is happening now and what may happen in the near future. What already happened in the past, you can not do anything about. It already happened. I would cry while listening to songs and thinking about it. Eventually, you will get over it. However, there is not ONE day that goes by and I dont think about it. It came fast and struck me hard. It will be hard. Talk about it to friends and family. Do not be embarassed.I didn't make my high school field hockey team, advice/help?
who the hell doesnt make a field hockey team. and who the hell cries about not making a field hockey team. i mean cmon people its field hockey. im luaghing so hard right now.
well I'm sure there's other field hockey leagues in your area, if there is try signing up and trying out for one of those (you might need to do a little bit of research to find these leagues). Just cuz your not playing field hockey doesn't make you a failure lol. good luck
get better
鈾 think you should keep your head up high no matter what.

鈾ou should stay practicing for the team and wait for another tryouts.

鈾tay patient dont ever give up on what you wanna do.

鈾n if you cant join the team try getting into a team outside of high school.!

~Good Luck :)

Everything will be okay :) !!!
The same thing happened to me with soccer in that there just wasn't a team for me to be on this year. So instead of playing soccer I am playing field hockey and discovered I like it better than soccer. Do a different sport or join a club or something, it'll make you feel better and get your mind off of things.
Simple try again NEXT year
welcome to the real world.......if you can`t handle not making a team you will never make it in life.....learn from this ...keep working and maybe you will make it next season
I wouldn't call you a failure because at least you tried your best right?

Not everyone can go on simply as skill goes up as you grow older ..
Here is what I think. Get your head together before you go so you don't sound all emotional and have a meeting with the coach. Be respectful and non whiny and ask what you can work on to be able to make the team next year. Ask to be the team manager and ask if you can do work outs with the team. Let the coach know you are still interested in being on a team and that you are willing to work VERY hard to make that happen. If the coach doesn't seem willing to help, you will have work as hard as you can on your own. Go to all the games (even if it hurts!) and be involved as much as you can. Be sure not to bad mouth the coach to ANYone! this kind of negative stuff has a way of getting back. The coach WILL see that you are serious and it will be in your favor come next try out time. Good luck and DON'T give up!
