ok i am 178lbs and 5'2'; and a female

i find it very hard to diet and work out i lose my breath all too quickly and it ends up with me getting frustrated and eating more than i started off!

I'm pretty well educated with fitness and dieting (go figure!) except i can NEVER follow what i've learned.

ugh can someone recommend a diet that has WORKED for them?

i have tried EVERYTHING under the sun and most things will simply not work for me! its so discouraging to say the very least.

can someone recommend a diet and exercise program that has helped them and one that wont be like throwing me to the sharks?

i love yoga of that helps except i haven't done it in a VERY long while so i have lost most of my flexibility.

any advice is greatly GREATLY GREATLY appreciated.

p.s---i dislike most veggies and cant stand the feeling or taste of salad in my mouth it makes me cringe and go nuts.

p.p.s---i used to love exercise so anything fun and upbeat but not too upbeat will be great!Overweight need advice/help! please!?
Ill tell you straight up what needs to be done in the least amount of words as possible.

There is no such thing as a good diet or more importantly a working diet. In your case, which at one time was mine, there has to be a self induced intervention. Its not so much eating ice cream or pizza that gets you over weight its the portions, (am i right?) Skinny ppl eat bad food constantly but if you notice its tiny amounts. Never the less we don't have that Luxury. So what needs to happen is look deep down and find something that makes you tick. Find a passion in which burns like nothing before, and consumes your thoughts about eating. This can be a hobby or a person. Heres something that helped me; I once read an article that said beautiful people go farther in the corporate world (and IE Life). At first I didn't believe in something so vain, but in actuality I looked up alot of executives in my company and couldn't say one was even slightly over weight. So when you don't eat you may be just empowering yourself. So eat all you want! Chocolate. Pizza, Cakes the whole Shabang. Its the desire not to eat like you have before. You find yourself leaving more and more on your plate, because you simply dont feel it like you did once before. Though beauty is skin deep, health can buy happiness in both love, fortune and success. So just remember life starts this second, not this coming monday so i can eat just a little bad today. START NOW! because you dont even know what your missing yet!

Its just what worked for me, because diets never work forever, just remmeber that dreams can come true, but only if you start eating less, not because you tell yourself, but because you dont need it anymore.

If you get this, I think you will agree, its nothing like before. Sucess and fortune follow, I wish I could only tell you my story.

Good luck!Overweight need advice/help! please!?
Try the special k diet. The cereal is so tasty and filling. You wont lose a ton of weight but it will help you get started. I lost fifteen pounds on it in two months without exercising. It will help you learn portion control and to be more aware of what your eating. I don't care for veggies either, but try fruit. I found that it helps if you don't buy the junk food in the store, then you wont have it at home to eat when your hungry. I hope this helps.
Do a Colon Cleanse

Yeast Cleanse

Take Fiber relgiously

No FASt food

No trans fat

Start walking every day for two weeks and go from there...

then Hire a trainer...
jog for 10min everyday
I was like you, back in Junior High, hahaha.

Then I started fencing and I joined the basketball and swim team. It was fun. After a while, I went from 50 lb. overweight to being normal weight with most of my weight being muscle, and healthy.

So that's really the key. Finding something that's fun to do.

It wasn't really a daunting dreadful task like lifting weights, running for no reason while staring at the wall, then repeat. (I had to do these, but there was a point to it).

I'm in college now, I started to get fat again, but I picked up Judo, BJJ (when bball season is off) at college, so I had something else to keep me active.

So the main thing is, find something fun, and do it. You'll lose weight without you even knowing it. And the best thing? I didn't need to choke down disgusting celery, I just ate whatever I wanted to (still a bad habit of mine), and just burned it off during sports.

If you're still in school, check out some of the teams.

You know what? SWIM. I learned to swim a while ago,and it was FUN as heck. And on top of it, it's a fat BURNER. It's good on the joints, relaxing, stress-releasing, and fat BURNING; it's almost like drugs, but healthy.

Some ideas to get you started off (most my female friends like these things): Tennis, running, swimming, dancing, fencing, taekwondo.

I'm not sure if yoga would really help. There isn't much cardio involved, isn't it just.... sitting on your ***, and stretching? Not very fat-burning if you ask me.
Don't think that someones exercise %26amp; diet program will automatically work for you (everyone is different). From your question, it seems as if you have been inactive (no exercise) for a long time and want to get back into exercising. So the main thing to do now, is to start doing something-some sort of exercise that you like.

I would suggest that you start by doing something simple like walking (20 minutes a day) and maybe a little bit of stretching. Then eventually get back into yoga (or something else that you enjoy doing). Don't do an exercise that you don't enjoy doing but do it because it worked for someone else (you will not have the motivation to continue and eventually quit).

As for your diet, start slow! Start by slowly eliminating junk food, soda, etc and increasing fruits, fiber, etc (there are no veggies that you like?). Don't just jump into some diet program because it will eventually fail.
