Problems with high school? need advice/help.?

Right now, I'm in an advanced high school (it's like a private school but it's public, hard to explain) where they put you in either AP or honors classes regardless of your grades and I'm drowning in all the work. I stay up until midnight every day trying to get all the homework done and i rarely get full credit on it. My test scores are average (B's and C's) as are my grades and I'm fine with that but I feel like I'm being stretched beyond my limits. I'm stressed and every day I want to break down and start crying. I try to tell myself that staying at the school will be worth it in the end but I don't think this education is worth losing my mind over. I don't know what to do. I need advice. Please help.Problems with high school? need advice/help.?
I know a niece that had the same problem, and she talked to her counselor/ adviser and went back to regular school. as they said, If you are working too hard and not enjoying the experience by all means go back. she is now in honors and advanced classes at the regular high school and very happy not feeling overwhelmed. You should talk to your counselor and let them know you are not having a good experience at that school. There is nothing to gain by hating your life and being over stressed . There is nothing wrong with asking for some help , or whatever it is you need to do. It's not good to be miserable, and silent.Problems with high school? need advice/help.?
talk to a counselor first them get your parents to talk to counselor with you, that way you can discuss every aspect of your grades and the reason you want to go to a public school where you will have time for yourself and school, where you won't have to take all AP and honors classes, only the ones that you want. If you change you will have more time to hangout with friends, high school is your only time off you are supposed to enjoy it and have fun.
Have a serious talk with your parents. Explain to them how stressed you feel. Talk to your advisor at school and explain it. See if they have any solutions other than changing schools.

It sounds like after this, college will be a breeze.

My dd went to a ';giftie'; high school (juniors and seniors only), and got a really good scholarship to a top private college, which she said was a breeze after being challenged so much in high school.

Stick with it if you can.

If you did change schools, would you be able to get AP or honors courses in any subjects at all, while taking regular courses in other subjects?
drop the classes you dont need to take, or you absolutely dont like because it doesnt matter to your graduation, it doesnt look extremely good to colleges, etc
seriously go with my advice, talk to someone u feel close to that can actually help, tell them that u r stressed with skool work, and its hard. then maybe tell them that you want to move skools, and see wut they say, trust me itll help, dont keep stressed it's not good, u need some advice and help... do nt sit there thinking about it, just do it...

hope that helps.... try to persuade ur parents if so so u can move skools, elementary skool,,,, is better..... hope that hlpss
Well it looks like you got yourself a problem.. Listen,, It probably will pay off later, but you have to worry about now too. You cannot be stressed over something everyday when you can get a great career in reglar high school. if you got into A.P you will do great in regular school. You can look into the future, But is it worth so much pain now?
You have a choice to make: do you stick this out and stay at this advanced school, or do you go back to your regular school? Now is the time to talk with Mom and Dad and your counselor and consider your options. If you are feeling like you cannot continue where you are, consider changing back to your regular school at the semester change. Between now and the end of the semester, work hard to maintain your grades so that you will have a good, clean record when you transfer.

If you can get into the same or similar classes at your other school, would you consider taking them? Which ones would you consider dropping for ';regular'; or Honors classes?

You do have to have some free time and time for doing things you enjoy beyond just studying. Is that something that you can see for yourself where you are now? Is it possible with the load of courses you are taking? Do you have time for things like elective courses and extra-curricular activities? Colleges look for well-rounded students, not just the ones who spent their high school years with their noses buried in books. Further. even employers are going to look at your outside interests. If you are so bookish that you can't interact with people, you are going to have difficulty finding a job where you may have to deal with people every day. There's nothing wrong with being super-bright and intelligent as long as you have a life beyond your books.

Good luck to you. You have some decisions to make.
If you're not finishing the homework, then it would be better to move to different classes if they're available, or change back to a normal school. It's not doing you any good to tough it out if you're not keeping up.

Our son was in the advanced math class in high school, but having trouble keeping up. He moved down to the normal track, and became the top of the class. It was a heart-rending decision, but it turned out to be one of the best things he ever did.
THIS IS ONE REASON WHY HIGH SCHOOL (AND MIDDLE SCHOOL) SUCK. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IS WAY BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
