I dont know where to turn... how to even begin the process of my transformation but i know that if i dont do something soon i will go crazy. I am interested in finding out information on EVERYTHING i would need to know about making the change. I have started to do some research on different occassions but always stop due to thinking ill never be brave enough to go through with it. I know that it will be hard... i know i will be ridiculed... but i also know that if i dont do something, i do not want to live the life i have been given. Please... someone help me. someone please just give me a place to startTransgender: FTM... I need resources, advice, HELP!!!?
I commend you on your decision to do research on your true self. It's so hard to admit it. Good for you!
I know a lot of programs about MTF trans people. Here are some that you may want to watch:
Transamerican Love Story (this is like the Bachelor but the star is a MTF trans): http://www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/tran鈥?/a>
Beautiful Daughters (Four transgender women intertwined with the casting, rehearsal and opening of Eve Ensler's ';The Vagina Monologues';): http://www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/beau鈥?/a>
The Believers (What happens when a group of trans-people want to reclaim their spirituality and start an all-trans gospel choir?): http://www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/the_鈥?/a>
No Dumb Questions (Documentary with 3 young children, and their struggle to understand their uncle's transition to becoming their aunt): http://www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/no_d鈥?/a>
I hope those help you. They are all documentaries so they are semi-true life.
Transgender: FTM... I need resources, advice, HELP!!!?
I know it can be overwhelming now, but the good news is LOTS of guys have been in your shoes, and have not only been able to survive it, but thrive!

Resources will depend on where you live but i've included some of the classic online resources in the sources section. My advice, just take it one step at a time. At any given moment check in with yourself about what you are comfortable taking on. Before long, you'll find yourself where you want to be!
first of all try to find what sex you really want to be ,the other day I watch on tv two person in the same position like you they become men and later they were uncomfortable with their body ,one of them did have money for the surgery and he put all his history in the internet and the people help him to do it ,if you have comcast you can see it
Hey dude, im an FTM too and have only just started my transisition, if you want advice or anyone to talk to message me :)
as for sources heres a few websites (ill update this message with more info later as i just realised im late for work lol!! but heres a few for now)

Forget the resources Hon. I knew I was a transexual from a very early age. I kept it secret for 17 years before finally letting the world know. I researched the various sites around for at least 5 of those.
If you really want to know about it, You need to speak to your doctor. They will put you in touch with a therapist who specialises in these conditions and THEY will be the best resource you can have, because no two peoples process is ever the same, and they're specially trained to help us deal with it, and explain what happens.
And whether or not you decide to go through with the transition, they'll be able to confirm your feelings and teach you ways to come to terms with it, and what you want it to mean in your life ;)
Good luck sweety
While the internet has no shortage of FTM information, you should also consider attending a transgender support group. Most any area with a decent sized population has one and going to one will give you the opportunity to meet others like yourself and learn from them. It's tough to live a gender variant life, but that shouldn't stop you if that's who you really are.
What city are you in. Because there are tons of resources.
Myself I am MTF but I know several FTM people. The first thing it that it is far easier for a man in a woman's body to successfully transition than the other way around. Because being a short guy is no big deal.
All the FTMs I know have been successful as men and once they have had the mastectomy and take the hormones they do quite well.
The biggest deal is that you will have to inject yourself with testosterone every 2-3 weeks for as long as you want to exhibit male characteristics.
As well, many of the trans men get a hysterectomy. However, the surgery for creating a penis seldom gives satisfactory results and few trans men get it.
Here in LA there are tons of resources and there are in most big cities. You just need to go on line and look for them.
drcroake,
The best place to start would be researching any type of transgendered network or possible organization within your city (if you live in a rural community, search in the nearest city). There are usually several in major cities, you are not alone! They have great support systems and information regarding health questions, social questions, etc. They may also have information on various doctors in the city who are known to be transgender-friendly. They will set you up with information on hormones, proper dosage, and insurance that can possibly be set up for you if you choose to pursue surgery as an option.
Yes it will be hard, you will face people thinking that what you are doing is wrong, but there are many more people out there who are accepting and will truly love you for who you are. My best friend has been on T for about a year now. We respect his decision and life has pretty much been the same (except, she just happens to now be a he)
Good luck!
