okay i already have a tiny 3month old puppy.
and just got a new 5 month old puppy shes a shephard lab mix.
but when i got her i noticed she had some sort of soar on her mouth not sure what it is and if its contagious.....
so in the beginning i let the puppies play but seperated them within
an hour or so just in case.
i was wondering if a vet or someone whose has this problem with their dog know what it is and some advice....
i just got her tonight and was gonna take her to the vet tomorrow but not sure if theyre open since its a holiday so i have to wait a whole day...till she gets checked out
so for now im asking on here....
what would you do? and if it is something bad or contagious would you call the owner to return her even if she was a free dog cuz shes not healthy like they said? i really dont wanna risk my 3 month old getting sick.
heres a pic of the soar:

thanks so much for advice and help in advance!!!!!!!!New puppy need advice/help?
I would definitely keep the dogs separated for the meantime. It may just be dermatitis but can't be sure until you get a skin scraping done at the vet. And in regards to returning her, it is totally up to you whether you want the extra expense or not. Whether the previous owner said she was healthy or not....she was free for a reason. Good luck!New puppy need advice/help?
Why not phone the previous owner and ask them if they know what's wrong with her mouth. I doubt it's contagious.
See a vet, dont worry too much though.
Cute dog :D
My dog had something kinda like that. She had sores all over her chin. So I took her to the vet and he said it was a staph infection, and he put her on antibiotics and it cleared up and never came back. Also I read somewhere dogs get them kinda sores if they eat out of plastic bowls because the plastic holds bacterica. So I switched to the metal ones and that made a huge difference. I would take your dog the the vet but it does not look contagious.
Go to a vet. You're wasting time.
i really don't think its contagious, i think she may have an infection therefore she will get antibiotics to take from the vet, looks like she has bitten something or got is caught. but i wouldn't worry just get her checked out
yes as soon as the infection has cleared and the swelling goes down it will look normal (not over night) she just needs some tablets to kill the infection.
she could ave been bitten by an insect or something
