I need advice? HELP!?

I'm going to be a junior in high school. I work really hard at my grades but unfortunately, I have a 3.4/ 3.5 GPA so far. I'm hoping I can raise it this year before applying to colleges. I would really like to become a pediatrician and I had a few questions on how to.

I've heard that it's good to volunteer somewhere that reflects interest in the occupation you'd like to pursue. Freshman year, I volunteered 50 hours at Valley Hospital. My sophomore year that just passed... I got a job at Walgreens. I plan on volunteering at Valley again next year. I got a letter of recommendation from the woman at the volunteer department.

Is it true that you can go to any college and take courses required for med school, and then apply for medical school? So if I wanted to go to a state school that had the required courses for Pediatrics, I could? Then I would take my marks and go to Medical School?

I'm so confused. Please help!I need advice? HELP!?
With a good back ground in science courses and good grades you can get into some med schools. You do need to raise your grades. Letters of recommendation from jobs and volunteer opportunities in your field do help. Also when you have a chance to choose a topic for research, choose one that is in a field of interest. Be sure to check with counselors at the college to get a good pre-med background. Good luck.I need advice? HELP!?
Depends on the college. Some colleges are specifically engineered for Med students. Others offer a list of prerequisites necessary for entering into a medical school program. It this case, you can major in an subject as long as you take the require course and pass the MCAT. I suggest continue doing volunteer work at local animal hospitals, take your SAT/ACT whichever your prefer, and in your senior year start conducting research on possible colleges that interest you.
